The team develops holistic, personalized interventions, with a focus on sensory health and enhancing care for aging populations.
RESEARCH TRANSLATION & INNOVATION
In addition to leading the PrescribingVR Lab, Dr. Appel founded caregiVR to help translate virtual reality research into practical tools that support older adults, caregivers, and care organizations. caregiVR builds upon insights generated through years of research on wellbeing, engagement, social connection, behavioural care, and implementation in senior care settings.
