To provide ethical and meaningful Therapeutic Recreational care for people living with dementia, assessment tools must seek to understand the dynamic lived experiences of individuals, including future leisure aspirations. However, current TR assessment practices in Ontario are varied, relying heavily on clinician skill in eliciting comprehensive and authentic responses. Our findings suggest opportunities to develop standardized training and practice guidelines for TR assessment.
